I should slow down

by Old-Nick @ 2007-11-19 - 22:26:05

At the weekends, or a least try to get some sleep and maybe look after myself a bit better.

Sitting here feeling totally shatered with eyes that feel bruised makes me wonder if I have had a weekend.

Now don't get me wrong - I had a great time this weekend as I normally do but you get them little voices saying "your too old for this behaviour" -which is the one you normally here when you wake up.

So should I go over to a life of early nights and health drinks? Use my weekends to sit in a peaceful environment and read, re charge my batteries and meditate?

Or shall I continue to throw myself at the weekends with mad abbandon and see what happens?

Oh yeah, Meno is coming over, then theres Liverpool the weekend after.....

Oh well, thats the healthy option out the window!

:>

Knob rot.

Now I have your attention with that frankly appaling and childish title I would just like to say that I have nothing to say.

I wonder sometimes as I lie awake at work, why people ever send me invites to joing their friends lists.

This stuff (points wildly around blog) is hardly booker prize winning material. I write too much when I have nothing to say, its all quite childish and smutty, yet occasionally I get invites from people who cover much more serious subjects on their blogs.

We all differ in our approach to the old friends list thing. When I started doing this, I read random blogs and found some people who interested me and invited them, and eventually got some invites "out of the blue" as it were from people whos blogs I had never read. In these instances a sneaky look and read was instigated just to check there would not be a clash of, erm, thingeys - styles? personalities? Ether based swamp demons?

anyway.

what was the damn point again.....er........no.

lost it.

Oh I know.

Do you, yes you, invite people randomly or do you invite them for a reason, and if so what so?

I knew I should have got more sleep this weekend.

Lightly chilled

by Old-Nick @ 2007-11-19 - 11:59:54

A number of people have been moved out of this office and into a nice renovated office a couple of miles up the road.

Some of the floors in this little building are deserted BUT there are some little pockets of workers still slaving away.

The only problem is that the inconsiderate bastards have turned off the hot water in the toiltes (so washing your hands is a chilly experience) and even better than that - they have turned off the bloody heating!

People are sat here with their coats on and muttering darkly.

Not me of cousre

I'm a stoic.

I come from Stoic Newington.

ahem.

I must not operate heavy machinery.

As it would not be wise.

Not feeling like a shiney bright thing this morning.

As some people have moved out of this floor and gone to the new office (bastards) I have nicked a desk fan from one of the abandoned desks for air moving purposes. This is because Glasgow Steve always has his fan heater on Kill under his desk and it gets very hot in here. I think it must be something to do with him being from up north, he can't take the cold. Which is odd - you think he'd be used to it.

It is very grey out there, looking out of the window I can see big dramatic dark clouds rolling across the sky, I think the sun is up but it's a bit hard to tell.

And now I should really have a look in the team drive and see if there is any work to do.

Or have a pony.

and another coffee.

Or go see what else I can "borrow" from the deserted desks.

Have a good morning.
