And so...

by Old-Nick @ 2007-04-30 - 20:11:48

The new years (beltain) celebrations begin!

:>

Could be suffering tomorrow. If we do it right of course.

In other news, Cleopatra - one of S&F's cats - leapt from the floor onto my left shoulder blade and clung on with her claws as I was sat at the pc earlier. She would have made the asscent to the top of my shoulder, had I not screamed like a girl!

So she spun around, using more claws for purchase and launched herself back off into the hall way. Little cow!

She is still my favourite though.

Oh thats done it. Zzzzzzzzzzz

The weekend has finally hit home, and I am knackered and ready for sleep. All that walking and fresh air. Too much for an old man you know.

Ahem.

And tonight I am going to S&F's for a little beltaine drinky and food up (in place of the Tuesday night thing that we normally do) Where will I get the energy? Who knonws.

And by the way, one of you is putting up loads of friends only posts from weeks ago. Don't know if you know your doing it - just thought I'd mention it but as they are friends only I dont wanna say who.

Excuse me my brain is not working very well due to dullardarity cause by walkiostomy.

Or something.

Still it's a cracking day out there eh?

The Sheep that went "Moooooo"

by Old-Nick @ 2007-04-30 - 11:56:30

Avebury is a very pretty place. Some of the village is within an ancient circle of standing stones. This means it atracts some of the more "colourful" strands of our population especially as it was the weekend before Beltaine or Pagan new year if you like (It's new years eve today by the way)

So the pub we had lunch in had a smattering of regular tourists and a dusting of rather gothy looking young women with cloakes and staffs, "Druids" in white roabs and some other people, accompained by various breeds of dog (string lead optional) and knobs in Anarchey t-shirts playing accoustic guitars. In fact when we left the front carpark looked like most of Camden Lock had moved in. Hey - whatever, free country and all that.

We had a wander round the stones, some quadrants of the circle are used as sheep pasture. As we were picking our way through the sheep shit and lambs, one rather large sheep got up and started to call for its children as she had decided the old udder was a bit full and needed emptying.

As she ambled past us going "Bhaaaaa!" she suddenly changed her mind about her species and went "Mooooo!"

"Did that sheep just go mooo?" I asked our group.
"I think it did!" said Mr S,
"I thought that!" said Jo.

"Moooooo!" it went again, causing much giggling from Sarah and a general scratching of heads from us.

Well they do say these stone circles have strange powers you know.....

BOING!

by Old-Nick @ 2007-04-30 - 10:12:15

Tis a glorious day out there.

The streets are just full of loveliness. May have to (just in the interests of Anthropolgy of course)find a fitting vantage point this lunch time and gaze upon the cavalcade.
;)
HO YUS.
:>
I may be knackered after the weekends trek, but I am not bloody dead yet. Still got a pulse.

Yes yes, I know. Another standard mucky post from Old Nick.

OK, I will tell you about the sheep in a little while then OK.
